Acorn Travels has been named Sri Lanka’s Leading Travel Management Company at the World Travel Awards 2026, recognising its services to corporate and leisure travellers.

The accolade was presented at the Asia, Oceania & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, held at CROSSROADS Maldives on 27 September 2026. Chamila Wijethunge, Director and Senior Vice President of Acorn Travels, accepted the award on the company’s behalf.

Wijethunge said the recognition reflected the company’s efforts to understand changing corporate travel requirements and provide dependable, efficient and personalised services that support clients’ business objectives.

She credited customers, partners and employees for their contribution, highlighting the importance of trust and teamwork in delivering consistent service.

Established in 1973, Acorn Travels has more than five decades of experience in the travel sector. The IATA-accredited company offers corporate travel management, tailored holidays, air ticketing, visa assistance and comprehensive travel arrangements.

Its service approach includes carefully planned itineraries, customer assistance around the clock and responsive support throughout the journey.

Founded in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognise achievements across travel, tourism and hospitality. Voting involves industry professionals and members of the public, giving the programme both trade and consumer participation.

Acorn Travels said the award also acknowledged the expertise and professionalism of its team, alongside the relationships it has developed with clients and business partners.

Building on the recognition, the company plans to strengthen service standards and respond to evolving traveller expectations. It reaffirmed its commitment to its “Inspiring Journeys” promise, with reliability, convenience and personalised attention guiding its services.
