Seylan Bank Secures Double Honours at Euromoney Awards 2026

Published on

Seylan Bank has secured two major international accolades at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, being named Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for Customer Experience and Best Bank for SMEs.

The achievement marks the second consecutive year that Seylan Bank has won the Best Bank for Customer Experience title, highlighting its continued focus on customer centric banking, digital innovation and service excellence.

Seylan Bank Director and CEO Ramesh Jayasekara described the dual recognition as a proud milestone for the Bank, reflecting its sustained investment in people, systems and services designed to deliver meaningful value to customers.

The recognition for SME banking reflects Seylan Bank’s efforts to strengthen Sri Lanka’s small and medium enterprise sector through tailored financial solutions. Its initiatives address challenges faced by SMEs, including access to finance, energy costs, export expertise and business development.

Among these initiatives, the Eco Solar Loan supports renewable energy adoption by SMEs and agribusinesses, while the Export Expert programme combines financing with guidance on export procedures, documentation and market access. The Bank has also developed propositions supporting women entrepreneurs.

Digital transformation has remained central to Seylan Bank’s strategy. Its E KYC process facilitates faster account opening, while its Merchant Portal enables businesses without dedicated websites or shopping carts to accept online payments.

The Bank has further strengthened customer engagement through omnichannel relationship management, chatbot enabled services, feedback platforms and round the clock contact centre support.

The Euromoney recognition reinforces Seylan Bank’s position within Sri Lanka’s banking sector while highlighting the growing importance of customer experience, SME empowerment and digital innovation in shaping the future of financial services.
