BOC Delivers Rs. 62.7 Billion PBT in Strong First Half of 2026

Published on

Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has delivered a robust financial performance for the first half of 2026, recording Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs. 62.7 billion and Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 39.8 billion.

The performance reinforces the strength of Sri Lanka’s largest state-owned commercial bank as the country’s financial sector continues to benefit from improving macroeconomic conditions and greater stability.

BOC’s results reflect the contribution of its core banking operations alongside disciplined financial management. The Bank continues to play a significant role in supporting businesses, individuals and key sectors of the economy through its extensive islandwide network and broad portfolio of financial services.

The first-half performance comes as Sri Lanka’s banking sector navigates an evolving operating environment characterised by changing interest rates, renewed private-sector activity and increasing demand for digital financial services.

BOC has continued to strengthen its digital banking capabilities while maintaining its traditional role in supporting national economic priorities. Its extensive customer base and presence across the country provide the Bank with a significant platform to facilitate financial inclusion and economic activity.

The strong profitability recorded during the period also enhances BOC’s capacity to strengthen its capital position and support future lending growth.

As economic activity gradually gathers momentum, the Bank is positioned to play an important role in financing businesses, supporting entrepreneurship and facilitating investment.

BOC’s first-half results demonstrate its continued financial resilience while highlighting the importance of sound banking performance in supporting Sri Lanka’s broader economic recovery and long-term growth ambitions.
