TWC Holdings has appointed Theekshana Jayarathna as Chief Executive Officer of TWC Development Management Ltd. (TWCDM), strengthening the Group’s leadership as it expands its domestic and regional operations.
The appointment was announced by TWC Founder and Executive Chairman Thilan Wijesinghe, who highlighted Jayarathna’s technical and financial expertise across multiple real estate asset classes and his contribution towards creating value for the company’s diverse clientele.
Jayarathna joined TWC in 2022 following a 14 year career at John Keells Group, where he served as Assistant Vice President and Head of Asset Management and New Business Development. His experience spans a broad range of development management disciplines, with involvement in major apartment, hotel and retail developments, including Cinnamon Life. The projects with which he was associated at John Keells had an aggregate value of approximately US$1.5 billion.
In his new role, Jayarathna will lead TWCDM as Sri Lanka’s real estate and tourism sectors seek to attract renewed investment. The company’s ambition is to become a preferred partner for investors and developers seeking commercially focused, comprehensive development management solutions.
TWCDM specialises in managing complex real estate developments from concept to completion, encompassing development strategy, feasibility, investment structuring, regulatory approvals, design management, construction oversight and operational readiness.
The company has also been involved in significant transactions, including advising on the US$96 million sale of five Marina Plots at Colombo Port City to Browns Investments. It is currently advising on a pipeline of tourism, hospitality and commercial real estate projects valued at more than US$120 million.
Jayarathna is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the UK and holds qualifications in Quantity Surveying and Building Economics from the University of Reading.
