National AI Awards 2026 Opens Applications to Celebrate Sri Lanka’s AI Innovators

Sri Lanka’s artificial intelligence ecosystem is set to gain greater recognition with applications now open for the National AI Awards 2026, held in conjunction with the National AI Expo.

Under the theme “AI amplified”, the awards aim to recognise organisations, innovators, entrepreneurs, academics and content creators who are driving innovation, transforming industries and expanding the possibilities of artificial intelligence in Sri Lanka.

The programme features several major award areas, including National AI Trailblazer, Industry and Sector Excellence, Innovation and Future Focused, and AI Content Creators of the Year.

Awards will recognise excellence in AI leadership, impact and exports, alongside solutions across agriculture, banking, finance and insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, education and media. Emerging areas such as agentic AI, AI start ups, localisation innovation and university led AI innovation will also be recognised.

The programme additionally highlights Women in AI Leadership, reflecting the growing importance of diversity within the technology sector.

Applications for the National AI Awards are scheduled to close on 22 August 2026, offering Sri Lanka’s AI community an opportunity to showcase innovations capable of creating meaningful economic and social impact.
