Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has once again been recognised as Sri Lanka’s Most Valuable Brand 2026 by Brand Finance Lanka, reaffirming its position as the country’s leading banking institution and one of its most trusted corporate brands. The prestigious recognition reflects the Bank’s continued financial strength, commitment to innovation and the enduring confidence placed in it by millions of customers across Sri Lanka.
According to Brand Finance Lanka, BOC recorded a brand value of Rs. 65.5 billion, representing a 14.1 per cent year on year increase, while its Brand Strength Rating was upgraded to AAA. The annual rankings are compiled using a comprehensive methodology that evaluates Brand Investment, Brand Equity and Brand Performance through detailed financial analysis and independent consumer research, providing a transparent and evidence based assessment of a brand’s value and reputation.
Further strengthening its international standing, Bank of Ceylon became the only Sri Lankan bank to be included among the World’s Top 500 Banking Brands 2026, reflecting its expanding global presence and strategic vision.
Commenting on the achievement, Chairman Kavinda de Zoysa said the recognition belongs to the Bank’s valued customers, employees and stakeholders whose confidence and support have contributed to BOC’s remarkable journey. He added that the Bank remains committed to responsible banking, service excellence, innovation and creating lasting value for the people of Sri Lanka.
General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Y. A. Jayathilaka said the recognition reflects the strength of the Bank’s long term vision and its commitment to continuous improvement. He noted that BOC will continue to accelerate digital transformation through customer focused technology, innovative banking solutions and enhanced service delivery while maintaining the reliability that has defined the institution for more than eight decades.
BOC continues to strengthen financial inclusion through its presence across all 331 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Sri Lanka and more than 2,500 customer touchpoints, including branches, ATMs, digital centres and agent banking outlets. Its flagship digital banking platform, BOC Flex, has surpassed Rs. 2 trillion in transaction value and achieved more than 2.5 million downloads, demonstrating the Bank’s leadership in digital banking.
The Bank has also reinforced its commitment to sustainable development by issuing the largest sustainability bond by a licensed commercial bank in Sri Lanka and contributing Rs. 500 million to the Government’s Rebuilding Sri Lanka Fund to assist communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah. As BOC celebrates another milestone, it remains focused on advancing innovation, supporting sustainable economic growth and delivering greater value to customers while shaping the future of banking in Sri Lanka.
