Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC) has announced the appointment of Adrian Lee Peng Yong as its new Finance Director, effective from 1 August 2026, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strong financial leadership and sustainable business growth.
Adrian joins CTC with two decades of international experience within the British American Tobacco (BAT) Group, having built a distinguished career across financial planning, business partnering, controllership and regional finance leadership. His expertise spans the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region, where he has played a key role in driving financial performance, operational excellence and long term strategic initiatives.
According to the Daily Mirror Business, Adrian most recently served as Finance Director for BAT Malaysia and Singapore Cluster, successfully steering the business through complex regulatory environments while delivering sustainable growth. Earlier, as Regional Head of Operations Finance for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, he led regional productivity programmes and strategic growth initiatives. During his tenure in Malaysia, the company also earned top recognition in the MSWG NACGSA Corporate Governance Awards for excellence in transparency and board practices.
Commenting on his appointment, Adrian said he was excited to join the CTC team and looked forward to building on the company’s strong foundations of financial discipline, sustainability and operational excellence while contributing to its continued growth.
Adrian holds a Bachelor of Business Management with a Double Major in Finance and Marketing from Singapore Management University. His appointment is expected to further strengthen CTC’s financial governance and strategic decision making as the company continues to pursue sustainable value creation for shareholders and stakeholders alike.
