The International Network of Elite Women (INEW) has officially launched its Sri Lanka Chapter, marking a significant milestone in connecting accomplished Sri Lankan women with an influential global network dedicated to leadership, collaboration and cross border opportunities.

The inaugural gathering in Colombo brought together distinguished women from business, diplomacy and the professional community to explore ways of strengthening investment, expanding international trade and enhancing Sri Lanka’s global standing through enterprise and innovation.

Unlike a traditional professional association, INEW is a trusted international community where accomplished women build long term relationships that encourage collaboration, mentorship and meaningful partnerships across countries and industries.

The event welcomed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka Miyon Lee and Madam Khin Sanda Win as special guests. Their participation added valuable diplomatic and international perspectives to discussions centred on attracting investment, developing trade partnerships and creating opportunities that improve livelihoods through sustainable economic growth.

The Sri Lanka Chapter is led by Sarrah Sammoon, who serves as Chapter President for both Sri Lanka and the Washington, DC metropolitan area. With more than three decades of experience in international business, global mobility and investment migration, Sammoon said the initiative aims to connect Sri Lanka’s leaders with international markets, ideas and strategic relationships that can accelerate economic development.

The launch also recognised the contributions of Namalie Menikdiwela, Co President of INEW Sri Lanka, Countess Shakuntala Schott, Natharlea Yahampath, Ramani Ponnambalam, Gigja Sorenson and Sonia Hirdaramani, whose participation helped establish the chapter’s collaborative vision.

Looking ahead, INEW Sri Lanka plans to organise leadership forums, international collaborations and carefully curated networking events that will strengthen ties between Sri Lanka and global markets. With membership offered by invitation, the organisation seeks to foster meaningful relationships among women leaders committed to collaboration, innovation and sustainable international engagement.
