Celeste Strengthens Corporate Governance with Leadership Appointment as Brand Enters New Growth Phase

Published on

Celeste, one of Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing lifestyle and quick commerce brands, has announced a significant milestone in its corporate journey with the appointment of seasoned business leader Roshanie J. Moraes and the introduction of a strengthened corporate governance framework to support its next phase of growth.

The move marks a strategic transition for the six-year-old brand as it evolves from a founder-led enterprise into a professionally governed organisation with ambitions to expand both locally and internationally.

Since its inception, Celeste has established itself as a recognised lifestyle brand through its focus on quality, innovation, community engagement, and customer-centric experiences. The company has further strengthened its market presence through round-the-clock accessibility enabled by partnerships with leading quick commerce platforms including Uber Eats and PickMe Market.

Founder Janik Jayasuriya described the appointment as a defining moment in the company’s evolution, emphasising that the new governance structure reflects Celeste’s commitment to building a scalable and sustainable institution capable of competing at the highest levels.

“Over the past six years, Celeste has grown from a bold vision into a brand that truly resonates with Sri Lankans. Bringing Roshanie onto our leadership team marks a defining moment for us, and I am confident that her experience and vision will take Celeste to new heights,” Jayasuriya stated.

Roshanie J. Moraes brings nearly four decades of corporate experience to the organisation. During her distinguished career with the John Keells Group, she held leadership roles across several key sectors, including transportation, retail, and property development, gaining extensive expertise in business strategy, governance, operational excellence, and organisational growth.

The company believes that strengthening governance and leadership capabilities will create a solid platform for future expansion, innovation, and long-term value creation.

Looking ahead, Celeste plans to accelerate growth initiatives, expand its portfolio of exclusive customer experiences, and introduce new digital offerings designed to redefine modern lifestyle retail and quick commerce in Sri Lanka.

The announcement signals a new chapter for Celeste as it positions itself for sustained growth, enhanced corporate stewardship, and greater competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
