Published on

Global Rubber Industries (GRI) has reinforced its leadership structure with the appointment of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Tharindu Atapattu and Chief Financial Officer Chathuranga Abeyaratne to its Board of Directors. The move reflects a strategic effort to enhance governance, align leadership with execution, and accelerate decision-making as the company enters a new financial year.

Dr. Atapattu, who assumed the CEO role in February 2025, brings over two decades of multinational experience, combining academic excellence with a strong track record in driving transformation and profitability. His appointment is expected to strengthen strategic direction while embedding innovation-led growth.

Abeyaratne, a seasoned finance professional with over 15 years’ experience, has played a pivotal role in reinforcing GRI’s financial discipline and resilience. His expertise in corporate finance and governance is anticipated to support data-driven decision-making and sustainable expansion.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s global presence in the essential oils sector was highlighted as Pride Rock Partners participated in the World Aroma Ingredients Congress and Expo 2026. CEO Rukmal Jayasinghe delivered insights on Sri Lanka’s role in the global fragrance value chain, emphasising opportunities in Ceylon Cinnamon Leaf Oil exports.

Together, these developments signal Sri Lanka’s growing influence in both corporate leadership and niche global industries.
