DFCC Bank Appoints Indrajit Wickramasinghe as Independent Non Executive Director

DFCC Bank has appointed Mr Indrajit A Wickramasinghe to its Board as an Independent Non Executive Director, further strengthening the Bank’s governance, strategic oversight, and leadership depth.

Mr Wickramasinghe brings over 36 years of senior management experience across the financial services and FMCG sectors, gained through leadership roles in both local and multinational organisations. He previously served as Director and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank for more than nine years until his retirement in August 2024. Prior to this, he was Chief Operating Officer of NDB Bank, where he was responsible for retail banking, corporate banking, SME banking, and project finance. Earlier in his career, he held several senior management positions at Reckitt and Colman.

Mr Wickramasinghe holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. His global exposure includes executive education programmes at the National University of Singapore, Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, and INSEAD in France. He is also a member of the Oxford Business Alumni network.

He has served on several boards in both executive and non executive capacities and was formerly Chairman of the Financial Ombudsman Sri Lanka Guarantee and a Director of the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka. He currently serves on the boards of AIA Insurance Lanka Limited, Diesel and Motor Engineering Plc, Fintrex Finance Ltd, Three Acre Farms Plc, Ceylon Grain Elevators Plc, C W Mackie Plc, Colombo Fort Land and Building Plc, and Overseas Realty Ceylon Plc.
